My dream job is to work as a paediatric nurse, and my placement at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne was an incredible opportunity and one that I absolutely loved.
A career in nursing appealed to me because the possibilities are endless. You are able to help people, work all over the world, and are constantly provided with new challenges and learning opportunities.
I choose to study at RMIT because of the support it provides students, the practical structure of the degree, and the-state-of-the-art facilities.
The highlight of my studies has been my clinical placements. Before graduating we need to complete 800 clinical hours, this allows students to experiences many different areas of nursing and be clinically ready for work.
I’ve have had the opportunity to work at some of Melbourne’s major hospitals in acute care, community, paediatric, and mental health nursing.
My dream job is to work as a paediatric nurse, and my placement at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne was an incredible opportunity and one that I absolutely loved. The RMIT paediatric elective also motivated me to continue on this career path.
I’m proud to say that I’ve secured a position at the Children’s as a graduate nurse!
Studying at RMIT has provided me with exceptional training in core nursing practices, speciality nursing skills, advanced clinical assessment and holistic patient care.
Having not just lectures but practical labs allowed me to consolidate my knowledge and skills. Not only have I learnt how to do something but more importantly why I’m doing it.
Nursing can take you anywhere, and nursing at RMIT provides you with a great foundation to start work as a registered nurse.
