I chose to study at RMIT as it is well known for delivering quality IT courses and each course combines theory and practical experience. I also liked having the flexibility in choice of subjects.
Being exposed to computers from a young age, I’d always wondered how it all worked ? how we can make computers act like a human, how our profile dynamically loads to a webpage, and how to make an e-commerce website, so I decided to turn this curiosity into a career.
I chose to study at RMIT as it is well known for delivering quality IT courses and each course combines theory and practical experience. I also liked having the flexibility in choice of subjects.
Through my studies I developed a lot of software engineering skills and took some project management courses which helped when job hunting.
A highlight of my studies was receiving an academic excellence award in 2012 and joining the Golden Key International Honour Society in 2013, and became a committee member in 2014.
I volunteered in several events around RMIT as well, including R U OK? Day, Open Day and as a student mentor.
I was also involved in the Foundation Studies Making Connections program where I got to share my experiences to international students who had just arrived in Melbourne. These experiences helped improve my communication skills and confidence.
Currently I am an IT Graduate at REA Group. I joined the company since March this year and am having an amazing time, finally getting my hands dirty.
I think it is a really interesting field, where you don’t stop learning. Every day has something new and there’s no limit to the innovative things that will come.
