Bachelor of Software Engineering
I decided to study Software Engineering as it looked like the perfect foundation for a career in a digital world. I want to make a big impact adding to the technological progression of society.
I chose to study at RMIT as the degree looked the most practical of the software engineering degrees I researched, which will help provide me with valuable technical skills.
There are so many fascinating courses and I have especially liked learning about artificial intelligence, algorithms, and machine learning.
Previously I was accepted into CSIRO’s Summer Scholar program in Hobart where I undertook research on artificial intelligence. More recently I received a Summer Scholarship from RMIT to complete research in Machine Learning
As part of my degree there is a 10 month industry placement component. I am fortunate to have been accepted into an international placement program where I will be undertaking work experience in Israel in deep learning and computer vision.
My advice to anyone thinking of studying software is to think big, and come up with a ridiculously large vision. Even if you set the bar a little too high, everything you achieve whilst working towards the goal is yours.
