Transition to Melbourne Bursary

If you are an international student currently living and studying in an institution interstate or in regional Victoria but wish to move to Melbourne to study at RMIT, the Transition to Melbourne Bursary may provide support for your move to Melbourne.

Value and duration

The value of the scholarship is AU$5,000 as a one-off payment transferred into student’s bank account after census date.

Number of scholarships available

Up to 10 scholarships.

Eligibility

In order to qualify for this scholarship you must:

  • be an international student* currently living and studying in an institution interstate (within Australia) or in regional Victoria
  • not be a current RMIT University student
  • be applying onshore (in Australia)
  • commence in Semester 1 2022
  • enrol in one of the following:
    • Associate degree
    • Bachelor degree
    • Masters by coursework
    • Graduate certificate
    • Graduate diploma

*You are not an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or on a permanent humanitarian visa.

How to apply

  1. Select an eligible program.
  2. Submit an application to study at RMIT.
  3. Receive an offer to study at RMIT.
  4. Submit an application form for this bursary.

Applications close on 31 January 2022.

Terms and conditions

  • Applicants must provide a document with their application form that confirms their current address is either interstate (within Australia), or regional Victoria to meet eligibility requirements. This can be either a driver’s licence, or recent mobile phone or utility bill. This information will be covered and protected under RMIT’s Privacy Policy.
  • Applicants must be an international student applying from Australia
  • This bursary is not available to current RMIT students.
  • Applicants with a conditional offer will need to meet the conditions of their offer and have active enrolment before the bursary can be disbursed.
  • Applicants with ELICOS packaged offer are eligible however they must commence their eligible program in Semester 1 2022.
  • If you have been offered an ELICOS packaged offer, this bursary will apply when you articulate into the eligible program.
  • This bursary cannot be deferred.
  • RMIT International may profile scholarship recipients.
  • Successful applicants will be notified; unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
  • Applicants should not be in receipt of any other scholarship covering ongoing tuition fees (applicants currently in receipt of a scholarship loan may be considered).
  • The bursary will be offered on a rolling basis until exhausted.
