This Associate Degree will introduce you to the fundamentals of engineering before choosing an area of specialisation. The course will get you accredited so you can start working sooner. It also provides a very flexible pathway to an engineering Bachelor degree.

Graduates may work in a range of fields including aerospace, civil and structures, computer networks, electronics, electrical systems and automation, mechatronics, and product development.

RMIT’s mechanical engineering course will give you the opportunity to design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects. You’ll be using specialised facilities and equipment from wind tunnels to machine shops, and fabrication and testing facilities.

You could work with Formula SAE racing car teams or take part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge – a humanitarian-focused course offered in all RMIT engineering degrees.

As a mechanical engineer your creativity and technical skills will be in high demand across many industries managing and maintaining existing technologies and developing new ones.

Surveyors play a major role in construction, mining and land development. From hydrographical surveys and exploration, surveyors are involved right through to the final construction of the roads, utilities, and landscape planning.

RMIT will give you specialised skills in geodesy, map projection, remote sensing, spatial and image analysis to prepare you for professional work.

You will use advanced equipment and specialised software to determine the accurate position of features. These include light beams to electronically measure distance and satellite positioning technology (GPS) to fix positions.

Software engineering focuses on the software development life cycle, but goes beyond programming to assess and meet customer needs, and design and test software.
