Course Summary

The aim of this course is to highlight and develop an understanding of cost and management accounting as a technical and social practice. It provides you with an introduction to key cost accounting techniques and procedures used by accountants to produce cost information used to support operational and management decisions.
You will be assisted in developing skills for conceptualising cost and management accounting issues in a variety of organisational contexts. You will be encouraged to develop practical skills in the area of absorption, marginal and activity based costing and their uses in operational and managerial decision making.
