Course Summary

Accounting, accountability and society focuses on an integrated and advanced understanding of accounting information systems as a social and technical practice. With the use of teamwork and collaboration, students will transform accounting approaches in a business context using creativity and initiative and reflect on their experience in this process. The exercise of professional judgement is an integral aspect of the role of an accountant and is highlighted through this course. The ability to synthesize and evaluate external financial reports and information for a range of stakeholders assists in decision making in different contexts.
