This course will develop your knowledge of the role of building services in determining how this discipline influences the construction process, building budgets, and building performance. You will also develop your understandings of how various types of building services equipment work and how they are integrated into a building. Topics covered include: heating and cooling, lighting, energy supply, on-site power generation, water supply and waste systems, fire safety, vertical transportation and building services for high-performance buildings. Energy efficiency is a recurring theme throughout the course.
