Course Summary

In this course you will critique contemporary concepts and approaches in human resource management relevant to the justice sector. This will involve critical analysis of justice management models used in the justice sector both nationally and internationally and issues relating to organisational culture and change. You will develop an appreciation of the challenges faced by justice managers in effectively leading staff in hierarchical organisations, which are common in the justice sector. You will consider command and span of control and compliance with laws associated with human resource management and leadership.. You will also learn about the development of?strategies to support staff welfare and resilience in coping with traumatic events.
