Course Summary

The Contemporary Industrial Design Enterprise exposes you to various modes industrial design enterprise: where the designer functions as a freelance and entrepreneurial agent; works within the organisational protocols of a manufacturing enterprise or design consulting business; and, where the designer offers specific expertise in the research, innovation, cultural and community domains. A focus is given to how you as a designer might manage and work within multidisciplinary teams, and how you can respond to ever-shifting economic, cultural and technological change. Through this you will develop a working appreciation for the pragmatic dimensions of professional practice.
