Course Summary

This course aims to provide you with an opportunity to reflect on, and gain insight into, the role and function of teaching and learning in applied clinical situations. Educational strategies and principles that enhance positive outcomes for clients, families, students, peers and health professionals will be identified, reflected on and practised with the a focus on adult learning principles. Emphasis is placed on your use of course content to set your own objectives to enhance your role as a clinical teachers within the context that is meaningful for your practice. You will consider curriculum development and development of a teaching plan along with styles of teaching. Within the course, peer review, competencies, mentorship and preceptorship are explored as useful strategies to support, evaluate and assess teaching and learning in the clinical situation.
