Course Summary

This course is designed to expand your knowledge in the field of non-linear mechanics of solids and its application to structural analysis, machine design and material processing. Through this course you will be able to understand the influence of non-linearities on the behaviour of structures. The course aims to equip you with essential analytical skills which have a particular bearing on your professional practice as mechanical engineers. On completion of this course you should have sufficient knowledge of the mechanics of solids to enable you to solve advanced practical problems.
Please note that if you take this course for a bachelor honours program, your overall mark in this course will be one of the course marks that will be used to calculate the weighted average mark (WAM) that will determine your award level.
