In this course, you will take a prevailing global issue of the moment and examine it from an array of academically informed perspectives to go beyond the headlines and sensationalist commentaries. Drawing on disciplines including political science, global studies, anthropology, and rhetoric, the course will explore the deeper socio-political, historical, economic and cultural contexts of issues, which too readily are reacted to and judged on superficial understandings and assessments. Through a process of rigorous analysis, you will develop a model for considering and responding to commentaries surrounding global issues of the future.
