Course Summary

Supervised Clinical Practice 3 is a one-semester course that involves consultation and treatment of clinical patients by students under the close supervision of a registered, RMIT approved Chinese Medicine practitioner. In this clinical context you will integrate and apply knowledge and skills gained from earlier courses in your program. The clinic experience will develop your capability to formulate diagnoses and deliver appropriate Chinese Medicine as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Your practice will be underpinned by an evidence-based approach. You will gain an insight into the rewards and challenges of independent practice as Chinese medicine practitioner and identify strategies for your on-going professional development.
This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from supervisors and/or community is integral to your experience. You will become familiar with the roles of Chinese Medicine in the broad context of the Australian health-care sector and develop your technical and analytical abilities, your communicative abilities and your ability to access and analyse information about Chinese Medicine.
