This course aims to foster your technical competence by introducing you to the fundamental mathematical procedures (e.g. differentiation) and mathematical objects (e.g. vectors and matrices) required by surveyors and geospatial scientists. The course builds on the foundations laid in secondary school mathematics and in turn lays the foundation for more advanced studies in subsequent mathematics, surveying and geospatial science courses.? Fortnightly practice classes aim to develop your capability to solve problems and to apply mathematical ideas and techniques. You will generally work collaboratively in these classes, discussing problems amongst yourselves and with class tutors in attendance.
