This course examines insolvency principles and the relevant provisions of the Corporations Act and the Bankruptcy Act. Specific areas of study include the processes by which insolvency proceedings are instituted, different forms of administration of insolvent companies; arrangements under the Bankruptcy Act, the effect of insolvency on the debtor; and the powers and duties of the insolvency practitioner. Cross border insolvency will also be covered.
