This course gives you the opportunity to obtain academic recognition for work done on an approved special project. Examples include an international RFP-based design (or design and build), student design competition, or nationally or internationally competitive or commercial spin-off project. The design work is undertaken under joint supervision and/or assessment (university and industry), and simulates the environment of a professional engineering design office. Team work and lines and methods of reporting will be defined, and the expectation is that the project work will be 'on time' and 'on budget' as appropriate to the expectation of the output of an engineering professional. All proposed project must be approved by the Course Organiser.
