Course Summary

The course teaches legal principles important in a commercial environment, focussing particularly on the legal principles in the law of contract, Australian consumer law, negligence and company law. This course will allow you to develop skills in reading, understanding and applying the relevant legal principles from both legislation and court decisions, and you will be exposed to critical thinking about the legal framework and legal standards underpinning the practice of business in general.
In this course, you will acquire the knowledge of legal principles underpinning various business structures and transactions including the law of contract and negligence, and focus on the principles relating to and regulating registered companies. It aims to provide you with an understanding of the legal environment within which companies operate in Australia.
