This course introduces you to the basic concepts of life at the cellular level and the principles of inheritance. You will also learn the principles of microbiology and the practical skills utilised in a microbiology laboratory. It will provide you with the specialised knowledge and technical skills required for further learning in second year courses such as Microbiology, Applied Microbiology and Molecular Biology & Genetics.
