This course will introduce you to the key aspects of management theory in the organisational environment. Specifically, the course will focus on:
* Fundamentals of management theory
* Organisational environment, including legislative, trade union, economic and social influences
* General management and its influences on the management of projects
* Organisational structures, culture, politics & power; organisational behaviour
* Organisational goal-setting: vision, strategy & decision-making
* Change management in organisations

Extensive use will be made of case studies and organisational situations that are relevant to projects.
