This course will introduce you to the key aspects of management theory in the organisational environment. Specifically, the course will focus on:

• Fundamentals of management theory
• Organisational environment, including legislative, trade union, economic and social influences
• General management and its influences on the management of projects
• Organisational structures, culture, politics and power; organisational behaviour
• Organisational goal-setting: vision, strategy & decision-making
• Change management in organisations

Extensive use will be made of case studies and organisational situations that are relevant to projects.
