Course Summary

This course introduces you to an overview of cellular injury and disease processes and their impacts on the major body systems. You will study how the body systems respond to pathological changes in the major organs of the body and the effects of ageing on physiological functions of the organ systems. It also includes an overview of common pharmacological management. Key topics include: Introduction to disease processes; Body's responses to injury; Disorders of the Nervous system; Disorders of the Musculo-Skeletal system; Disorders of the Endocrine system ; Disorders of the Cardiovascular system; Disorders of the Respiratory and Digestive systems; Introduction to Pharmacology; Analgesics and Anti-inflammatory drugs; Antihypertensive and Anti-coagulant drugs; Anti-psychotic drugs and other common groups of drugs.
