Course Summary

You will develop an appreciation of decoration and design via a research project in collaboration with industry. Work place practice will be observed in real time and will involve mentoring from a practicing professional. You will explore the business, creative and personal skills required to succeed in the interiors industry. You will design, assemble and refine a concept that demonstrates a range of your design skills and knowledge. You will respond to a brief set by an industry partner, present concepts to industry, and will be provided with feedback.
In this course you will interpret and apply the knowledge and skills required to specify innovative spatial planning and cost effective decorative solutions for interior decoration and design concepts.
This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.
