Course Summary
This course aims to introduce and explore research, policy, and practice on quality teaching and learning. You will explore seminal learning theories and consider how your knowledge of these shape your content and pedagogical decision-making. This course will also aim to strengthen your knowledge and understanding of effective planning for learning, focusing on the development of lesson sequences and strategies that respond to students from diverse cultural, linguistic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. You will also explore current research and policy related to student behaviour and engagement, and consider how relationships, physical learning environments, and school structures support student learning.
This course includes a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) professional experience (PX) in which your teaching knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience. This PX is 15 days.
