Course Summary

This course will prepare you to teach Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability, two of the content strands in the school curriculum. There is a strong emphasis on extending your knowledge and confidence in the mathematics that underpins school curricula at this level. Modelling a conceptually-rich, strategy-driven approach, you will critically analyse research findings into how students learn and develop strategies to teach for understanding. You will investigate how to use resources effectively and innovatively when planning sequence of learning activities that support the development of mathematical reasoning in the content areas addressed.
