Course Summary

This course develops your knowledge and skills to work with children with complex and diverse learning needs and severe, profound disability conditions. You will explore strategies for working collaboratively with education aides and other learning and health support facilitators and review arrangements provided by schools and support agencies to meet learners' needs. You will work in schools with class teachers and allied health providers, gaining experience in assessment, working in teams and developing and documenting individualised plans for successful learning.
This course includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.
