Course Summary

In this course you will study the history and theory of animation and interactive media, exploring the very beginnings of these media through to the present day. You will be introduced to animation as a global industry, entertainment, technology and art form. Aesthetic, technological, cultural and theoretical developments in animation and interactive media will be a focus in the course. It will also include research and development in story, including structural paradigms, story development and narrative principles. Narrative structures of animation and interactive media, developed over time, will be examined to inform content design.
