Course Summary
This course introduces you to research methods and theoretical concepts that are widely used in Construction, Property & Valuation and Project Management research. In developing your research capability you will also develop skills in discussing and debating concepts relevant to these areas.
Your learning in this course will provide a foundation for your future learning in Research Practice 1 and Research Practice 2 and will equip you to undertake research related to the Built Environment. Guided by your lecturer, and under the supervisor from within the School, you will build your research capability by developing the theoretical knowledge and the skills required to conduct independent and/or collaborative research. Specifically, you will learn how to undertake research activities which include an analysis of literature and the formulation of a research question.
Please note that if you take this course for a bachelor honours program, your overall mark in this course will be one of the course marks that will be used to calculate the weighted average mark (WAM) that will determine your award level.
