Course Summary
This course will develop your capability to lead transformative responses to the sustainability challenges facing society. You will develop your understanding of the science, economics, ethics and politics of climate change, population growth, economic growth, resource depletion and the capacity of social and environmental systems. You will critically examine responses that government, business and civil society may employ to address these inter-related challenges, including pollution and consumption taxes, carbon trading schemes, incentives and regulations, education, adaptation, research, innovation, alliancing and networking. This course emphasises a systems and values approach to developing vision and strategy for sustainability leadership, for both local and global contexts. You will develop and apply your understanding of leadership theory and techniques, and the skills and knowledge required to act as change leader for sustainability initiatives.
