In this course, you will explore technical and theoretical principles and skills that apply across all photographic practices and begin to build technical proficiency. You will establish foundational knowledge of photographic techniques, technologies, and essential workflows that you can begin to apply to your own practice, learning to match technical skills with creative expression.
Through practical demonstrations and activities, you will gain hands-on understanding of lighting, optics, visual perception, and imaging systems found in professional photographic practice. By solving photographic challenges, you will experience the various advantages and limitations of the lens-based image making practices.
This course is a core course in the Bachelor of Photography and part of the Major: Photography.
