Course Summary
This course will advance your skills in designing and analysing mechanical components that are relevant to biomedical engineering. The course will build on knowledge and skills acquired in the introductory course 'Introduction to Engineering Design'. In this follow-on course, you will strengthen your skills in computer aided design (CAD) of mechanical components, assemblies and systems. You will learn about the theoretical basics and practical applications of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, and you will apply this to structural analyses in the field of mechanical and biomedical engineering. In addition, you will learn about manufacturing technologies that are relevant to biomedical engineering and their impact on design.
