Course Summary
In this course you will explore retirement planning with a particular focus on the role of superannuation in Australia. The course will include a comprehensive study of superannuation funds, the funding process, benefit structures, regulatory framework, investment decisions, taxation issues and administration requirements for people currently in the workforce or planning to retire. Also included will be a consideration of the different forms of retirement income planning strategies in the economy, and issues which impact on retirees at different stages during their life. This course includes a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community participant is integral to your experience. In this process you will be required to formulate practical solutions which address your clients' financial circumstances and achieve an appropriate retirement outcome. The course is listed on the ASIC Register of Compliant Training as meeting the requirements for superannuation specialist knowledge under Regulatory Guide 146 and is also worth 15 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for membership of professional bodies such as the Financial Planning Association.
