Course Summary
This course integrates work-based and academic learning. You will apply your specialised property skills and knowledge to the performance of organisations, extending your analytical and strategic thinking and consolidating your high level professional oral and written communication skills.
The course involves a negotiated professional practice project. It is designed as a capstone experience to enable you to synthesize, integrate and apply the knowledge and skills you have developed in this program to a workplace context. Your research investigation may be based on a project or issue relating to your professional context or you may select a workplace scenario. Your research will respond to real world industry issues and/or address issues faced by organisations from within the property sector. In doing so, you will consider a range of factors including the social, environmental and legislative environment, along with ethical considerations as a property professional.
This course will develop your high level research, critical thinking and analytical skills, enhancing your capacity for independent and collaborative research and team work.
Your project research activities will be supervised by a lecturer, who will advise on academic issues associated with topic selection, project design and report preparation, as well as related industry engagement requirements if applicable. You will also engage in practical workshops in which you will critically engage with your peers and your lecturer, to support you to theorise and reflect on your research.
This course includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.
