Course Summary
This course examines areas of Intellectual Property (IP) law, including, trademarks, designs, patents, copyright, and passing off. It introduces and examines the rationale for the existence of an IP regime and its importance to the knowledge economy. You will gain knowledge and skills by studying each area in detail with emphasis placed on strategic management of business IP assets, as well as on design. The operation of Australian IP law is examined in the context of the international IP framework.
