In this course, you will design and lead a practice-based mental health nursing research project aligned to your advanced clinical context. You will synthesise theoretical, clinical, cultural, and ethical frameworks to develop a rigorous, person-centred research design, and critically evaluate evidence-based practice, policy, legal, and ethical standards to ensure safe, ethical, and recovery-oriented care.

You will apply advanced therapeutic communication and relational approaches to engage individuals, families, and communities in the design and conduct of research. You will also develop research-informed strategies to support collaborative, person-centred care planning across biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions, with a focus on service improvement, advocacy, and social inclusion.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement, you will lead the development, conduct, and dissemination of your project. The course culminates in the delivery of a coherent, practice-based research project using appropriate and justified methodologies, strengthening your capability as a research-informed clinical leader in mental health care.

This course provides you with a capstone experience, which will give you the opportunity to integrate, critically reflect on and consolidate what you have learnt in your program.
