Course Summary

This course introduces you to the basic concepts of human biology. You will acquire the knowledge necessary to understand the structural and functional organisation of the human body.
Key topics include: Organisation of the human body, structure and functions of cells and tissues, cellular transport, basic metabolic processes, process of cell division related to growth and reproduction, human inheritance and an overview of the major body systems.
Laboratory sessions include: Anatomical and physiological lab activities that provide a better understanding of the biological principles of the human body.
The information covered in this course provides the knowledge essential for Human Biology 2.
