Course Summary

This introductory course offers you the opportunity to complete an internship with an organisation you have found to develop your skills and knowledge at an advanced level in a workplace linked to your chosen discipline designed to prepare you for the workplace. You will experience the workplace organisational culture and the processes they employ to achieve business outcomes.  

You will be expected to work a total of 240 hours. Your weekly hours and schedule will be agreed with your internship organisation.

In preparation for your internship, you will undertake in-course learning on the use of Generative AI that supplements any Generative AI use learning you may have completed in courses already completed. You will be required to choose at least two professional skills from the list of professional skills you would like to develop while in placement (in agreement with your internship organisation) as part of the Work Integrated Learning Agreement and prior to commencing the placement, complete the WIL Ready Cred. 

Process Requirements:

After enrolment and before commencement of the internship, the following must be completed:

  1. You are responsible for securing your own internship
  2. The position must be approved by the Course Coordinator
  3. A WIL Relationship Agreement must be completed by the host organisation, student and RMIT University
  4. The internship and associated documents must be recorded in the university's InPlace WIL system
  5. International internships must be registered through RMIT Global Mobility's Mobi system
  6. Assessment requirements should be read and understood prior to commencing your internship
