Course Summary
In this course the relationship between physical activity, sedentary behaviour and inactivity to health will be explored. A range of psychosocial influences on health and physical activity participation are considered, including individual, historical, social, cultural, geographic and environmental influences. Strategies and interventions to overcome barriers and encourage physical activity participation are addressed via a settings-based approach. Various theories and measures of health, sedentary behaviour and physical activity will be evaluated. As part of the practical component of this course, you will participate in a range of lifestyle physical activities and explore their connection to health and wellbeing.
