Course Summary
In this course you will deepen your understanding of how to differentiate your teaching to support the participation and learning of students with additional needs. You will extend your repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students with additional needs in learning and evaluate the effectiveness of your teaching. You will consolidate your skills in planning an inclusive curriculum and differentiating learning for children of differing abilities. You will also apply your knowledge and awareness of key stakeholders' perspectives in order to provide rich learning experiences for children of all abilities.
During your professional experience you will continue to develop your teaching practice more generally and participate as a professional teacher in the day-to-day activities of the school. You will also apply your knowledge and understanding of teaching children with disabilities to your own practice.
The course includes a professional experience placement (work integrated learning) during which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from supervising teachers and/or community is integral to your experience. Your professional experience placement is to be undertaken according to the Professional Experience Calendar, unless Special Consideration is granted for an equivalent assessment.
