This course focuses upon education and its social and cultural role within and beyond Australia. You will engage with educational theories and research that examines the 'state of play' within Australia primary schooling and early childhood settings. There is a particular focus upon how to understand and support students from diverse backgrounds and you will be introduced to a range of pedagogical strategies and theoretical underpinnings of teaching within and about difference and diversity. Throughout this course, you will develop skills, strategies and resources to both think through and support diversity within contemporary primary school classroom and early childhood contexts.
