Course Summary

This course is a requirement for the external accrediting bodies Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) and is administered through Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). It is not administered through RMIT.
You are required to:
  • Attempt this course in Year 1 of the program; and
  • Pass this course before progressing to Year 2 of the program in order to be eligible to graduate and register as a teacher.
The Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students is designed to assess your personal numeracy skills to ensure that you are well equipped to meet the demands of teaching and assist higher education providers, teacher employers and the general public to have increased confidence in the skills of graduating teachers.
If you have recognised proficiency in a First Nations language, this is an acceptable alternative standard to LANTITE attainment. Please contact the LANTITE coordinator to learn more about the process to confirm recognition of First Nations language proficiency.
