This course focuses on preparing you to enter a human services profession, equipped with an ethical framework to help you make well-reasoned decisions.  

Professional ethics are more than just good boundaries (they are important too!). But in this course, you will be tasked with examining your own personal ethical framework and understand it through a lens of moral philosophy. This could be a human rights lens, utilitarianism, deontology or relational ethics. From this, you will be introduced to ways of reason and ethical decision making that fit within a consistent and justifiable framework for you both professionally and personally.  

Additionally, in this course you will look at broader issues of professional ethics such as regulation, professionalisation and registration of a profession. You will finish the course confident in the application of the relevant code of ethics for your professional career. 

This course is foundational to your degree and professional practice and a pre-requisite for placement for Youth Work Students.
