Course Summary

This course is a capstone experience, drawing upon the culmination of your BP322 Studies. Structuring the scope of inquiry in the course is a focus on a range of emerging contemporary themes in youth studies and youth work, including: sex and gender; race, colonisation and migration; health and bodies; work and labour; civic participation; technology; and climate. This is combined with a core imperative of this course - where you will develop a critique that interrogates the 'problematic' of 'youth', where young people are positioned as problems unto themselves, or as problems for others to resolve in respect to these contemporary themes. Through critical research, you will select from the key themes through which to develop a research topic which explores the way young people are framed as well as explore the issues and potential solutions which might lead to better futures for young people.
