Course Summary

This course will introduce you to the not-for-profit (NFP) sector (also known as the charitable, social or third sector, distinguishing it from the for-profit private and government sectors). You will develop your critical understanding of the features and practices which define the NFP sector, and reflect upon the important role strategic asset management plays in optimising the social and financial value of NFP assets. The objectives of this course are to develop your critical understandings of: the purpose, diversity and value of NFP organisations; the role land and buildings play in NFP organisations achieving the organisational mission; and the maintenance, asset management and capital replacement challenges faced by NFP organisations.
