Course Summary
The curating of popular, contemporary and traditional arts and cultural content occurs in many contexts including in galleries and museums, public art programs, special events and arts festivals. Through discussions on various local, national and international case studies, expanded ideas of curation will be considered from the historical aspects through to the contemporary implementation of this form of curating. Through guest speakers, case studies and literature, various traditional, popular and contemporary art forms will be explored to consider and engage with how artistic programs are curated.
