This course will introduce you to the basics of money, cryptocurrency and distributed ledger technology. You will be introduced to the current classes of crypto assets. You will analyse and understand the nature and evolution of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum and other variations of crypto assets and their current and potential applications. You will understand how crypto assets relate to and challenge mainstream economic and financial thinking. You will explore the implications of cryptocurrency and distributed ledger technology for the local and global banking, taxation and regulatory system.
