This course explores the potential for value adding to waste material through material innovation and expressions, ethical and responsible practice, practical experiments and iterative ideation. You will explore emerging material trends, hybrid craft techniques and circular making processes, in combination with techniques that are widely employed in industry for materials characterisation, manipulation and application. You will explore techniques and processes such as textile construction, chemical treatments, dyeing and finishing, coating, binding, heat setting and shaping for the development of new material experiences.
