Course Summary

This course explores how textile materials can be smart and active in low tech to high tech ways by being interactive, transformative, aesthetically active, adaptive, functional and responsive to natural factors (e.g. sunlight) or to stimuli. You will examine and explore textile materials as active, smart and connected. You will consider how a material's properties can respond and change to an external force, sensor or input. You will explore textile materials, structures and systems through multidisciplinary approaches.
