Course Summary

This course extends the knowledge and skills you have developed in GRAP2817 Fashion Communication Design to allow you to develop your own methods to present fashion through a range of mediums. In this course you will research various methods used by contemporary fashion practitioners and use this knowledge to express your own fashion ideas and consider appropriate methods to present your fashion design outcomes. Presentation formats may include: live performance, fashion shows, exhibition or showroom installation and display, video/digital and other emerging platforms.
The aim of this course is to identify, analyse and reflect upon various methods of presenting fashion ideas that are relevant to diverse fashion contexts. You are encouraged to collaborate with peers from fashion and from other disciplines as a part of discovering different approaches and methods for presenting creative practice outcomes. The course culminates in the presentation of your own fashion outcomes at a professional standard. The resulting presentation, regardless of form, should be suitable to communicate your work to industry/peers and to position your emerging design practice within a broader context.
Delivered alongside GRAP2835 Fashion Design Project Launch you will engage in presentation of research and design outcomes and gain experience in presenting in an outward facing context.
