In this course, you will undertake a design project in which you will apply your knowledge and skill to a specific brief. You will explore key fashion topics and ideas through design practice. Themes centre on fashion ideals: market, context, function or performance, developed through the creation of project outcomes that align potential audiences, their expectations and functional or technical requirements to fashion contexts and related design approaches and techniques. The learning activities and assessments allow students to experience and test specialist fashion practices.
Projects are based on different concepts, techniques, or genres of fashion design practice and include aspects of research, design development, communication and making experimental samples or testing concepts for innovative fashion practice. Project outcomes are developed in response to specifically directed assignment briefs and encourage emerging design strategies.
