Course Summary

In this course, you will explore knitted and looped textile design creation through hands-on making, developing skills such as crochet, hand and machine knitting. You will gain an overview of contemporary, cultural and historical perspectives of both hand-crafted and industrial practices to inform your design ideas.
Through the exploration of materiality, colour, and structure, you will apply innovative methods to create knitted and looped textiles. You will expand your design thinking for the application of these textiles to contexts such as interior/exterior spaces, body and experiences, in response to your area of interest.
